Installation |
| |
| How
many computers am I allowed to install KMP on? |
| Depends on the KMP
Version (KMPLite or KMPPlus)... |
| |
|
KMPLite: KMPLite is a FREE application, therefore no
installation limits are imposed. |
| |
|
KMPPlus: Registered users of KMPPlus are permitted to
install KMPPlus on up to three (3) personally owned computers.

Playback |
| |
| I do
not hear anything during playback of Karaoke audio files? |
|
Both KMPLite and KMPPlus utilize the
"default" audio device (Sound Card) as configured in Windows for audio
playback. If you have multiple Sound Devices in your computer, you
MUST ensure the Sound Device currently driving your Speaker(s) is
selected as default within Windows.
Click here for a tutorial on setting your default audio devices. |

Microphone (KMPPlus
only) |
| |
| I do
not hear anything when activating my Microphone? |
| Your Microphone and
associated driver(s) MUST be properly configured within Windows before
they may be used within KMPPlus. Please refer to the documentation
and/or support resources provided with the Microphone for further
information regarding the setup of the device. Once properly
configured, you must configure KMPPlus to look for and utilize the
device, to do this please refer to the applicable section within the
KMPPlus built-in Help System or
| |
| When
activating my Microphone, sometimes the output sounds broken or
crackly? |
| Some Audio Devices
(Sound Cards) are known to have problems "initializing" and/or
"synching" Microphones/Line-in devices when utilized in synchronous
mode as required by KMPPlus. We recommend that you first ensure you
are utilizing the latest driver(s) as provided by the Audio Device
provider/manufacture. If the issue still exists after updating your
driver(s), you may need to repeatedly cycle the Microphone On/Off
until the device properly initializes and syncs, providing clearer
output. |
| |
| When
activating my Microphone, sometimes the output sounds distorted? |
| You may be
"overdriving" the Audio Device. Try lowering the "Microphone Gain"
until you reach an acceptable output quality. |
| |
| The
output from my Microphone sounds delayed? |
| This is the result of
"latency" ("delay" in layman's terms) imposed by the Audio Device
(Sound Card). Real-time processing of input signals
(Microphone/Line-in) involves high-demand processing power, of which
differs significantly between Audio Devices (Sound Cards). Typically
speaking, the more expensive and "professional" the Audio Device, the
lower the latency, all the way up to "professional" Audio Devices used
by Recording Studios, costing many thousands of dollars. Most
"consumer" quality Audio Devices lack the needed processing power to
provide "latency free" real-time reproduction of
"Line-in/Microphone" signals, therefore some latency is to be
expected. As an alternative, you may wish to utilize an Audio Mixing
Device (Mixer), whereby both the Audio Output (Line-out) from your
computer and the Microphone are plugged into, and controlled by the
mixer, with the "Tape Out" signal of the mixer being routed back to
the "Line-In" port of your computer (See "I'd
like to record directly from a Mixer for better Microphone output
quality, can I do that?" below). This will offload the real-time
processing to the mixer, resulting in a significant improvement in the
resulting overall quality of your recordings. |

|
Recording (KMPPlus
only) |
| |
| I do
not hear anything when playing back my recordings? |
| You most likely do
NOT have the proper Audio Device and/or Channel configured within
KMPPlus. In order for KMPPlus to record the full output of your
Computer Speaker System, the proper Audio Device (Sound Card) and
Channel ("Stereo Mix", "What you hear" or something similar, depending
on your particular Audio Device) must be properly configured. Please
refer to the applicable section within the KMPPlus built-in Help
System or

|
NOTE: Please understand that most
Computer Audio Devices (except for the most expensive "Professional"
models) are NOT intended, and are incapable of producing
"Professional" or "Studio Quality" reproduction of Recorded audio.
Therefore, audio output quality may differ significantly from one
Audio Device to another. |
| |
|
I'd like to record directly from a Mixer for better Microphone output
quality, can I do that? |
| Absolutely! You would
need to route the "Output Audio Signal" (Line Out) from your computer
into a designated channel on your mixer, then connect the signal from
your Mixer "Tape Out" port to the "Line In" port/channel of your
Computer Audio Device (Sound Card). Once properly connected, be sure
to select the proper Audio Device and Channel (In this case, "Line In"
or similar) within KMPPlus. |
